Date: 14 December 2008
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
Marathon No: 5
Details: Nick completed the Honolulu Marathon on Sunday in a time of 3 hours 39 mins 30 secs. With an official place of 1129th, Nick's impressive actual time meant that he passed the finish line in around 600th position out of a total of 20,063 finishers. The race started at 5.00 am but it took Nick over 15 minutes to get over the start line. The weather started with monsoon-like rain for 90 minutes then ended with blistering sunshine – very strange weather indeed.

Date: 30 November 2008
Location: Seattle
Marathon No.: 4
Details: Nick finished the Seattle Marathon in an amazing time of 3 hours 24 mins 48 secs in 189th out of 2127 finishers. Nick had hoped to get a personal best but the inclines on the course, especially near the end really hit his legs hard. Still he really enjoyed the marathon and is pleased to have completed his fourth marathon in three months.

Date: 26 October 2008
Location: Niagara Falls, in both the USA and Canada
Marathon No.: 3
Details: Nick finished the Niagara Falls International Marathon, his third marathon in four weeks, and indeed the 3rd marathon of the 12 marathon challenge. According to Nick, the race conditions were generally good, with the wind making it slightly tricky. Nick finished 79th out of 817 finishers in a time of 3 hours 21 mins 12 secs – his 2nd best time ever!

Date: 12 October 2008
Place: Chicago, USA
Marathon No.: 2
Details: Nick completed the Chicago Marathon, with a great time of 3 hours 25 mins 33 secs. He says that he struggled through this marathon as a result of the temperature rising to over 30 C by the time I crossed the finish line.

Date: 28 September 2008
Place: Berlin, Germany
Marathon No.: 1
Details: Nick started his world record marathon bid by running the Berlin Marathon. He completed the 26.2 mile race in a very impressive 3 hours 19 mins 59 secs. Nick's certainly off to a great start!
