To mark the 14th Anniversary of the Rwandan genocide on Monday 7th April, we are organising a Reading of the Testimonies of Survivors in Washington Square Park.
Components Commemorates Rwandan Genocide in Partnership with Survivors Fund
Components is teaming up with the Survivors Fund (SURF) to mark the 14th Anniversary of the Rwandan genocide with a unique multimedia event at Brixton Jamm on Sunday 6th April 2008.
Oratory Concert to Support SURF

The London Oratory School is to donate proceeds from a special concert to mark World AIDS Day on 1st December to Survivors Fund (SURF).
The Charity Concert for World AIDS Day will be staged at Cadogan Hall, Sloane Square, London, and will feature the school's internationally acclaimed choir, the Schola, performing alongside a host of London's leading soloists and the London Oratory Sinfonia.
SURF to raise awareness at The Human Cost, at The Young Vic on Sunday

SURF has been invited to The Human Cost, an evening of reminiscence, reflection, song and protest held at The Young Vic. SURF will be on hand to raise awareness about the Rwandan genocide and to distribute information about our projects to assist survivors in rebuilding their lives.
SURF's Third Official Visit to Rwanda
20th – 27th October 2007
For the third year running, Survivors Fund took donors, trustees and supporters on a week-long visit to seee firsthand the projects, organisations and survivors that SURF supports. The trip was a unique opportunity for a small group of travellers from the UK to learn more about SURF, Rwanda, and life for survivors after the genocide.

Official Launch of New Educational Materials
Our Tenth Anniversary Celebration
16th July 2007
Survivors Fund is planning a landmark event to mark its 10th Anniversary, so keep the date free in your diaries. The event will be staged at London's Living Room, at the offices of the GLA on the South Bank. The evening will start at 6.00 pm and will go until 9.00 pm. This special occassion will serve to celebrate the work of the Survivors Fund, and to look forward to the challenges that survivors face in the future.
Book Launch for Over A Thousand Hills I Walk With You

SURF Founder and Director, Mary Blewitt, said a few words at the launch of Over A Thousand Hills I Walk With You. The book launch was on 19th June, at 6.30 pm at the Andersen Press, 20 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 2SA. There are a limited number of tickets still available for the event.
Heroes of Our Time on show in Scotland

Heroes of Our Time is to be exhibited in Scotland through the Scottish Borders Museums. The exhibition is supported by long-term Survivors Fund partner, the Lindean Trust.
Launch of Red Soil in my Eyes

A new album by the New York based African Jazz singer and songwriter, Somi. Somi will be donating 10% of the sales from the album to SURF, to support women survivors raped during the genocide and infected by HIV/AIDS. For more information, see www.somimusic.com.
The Commemoration of the Rwandan Genocide

Red Nose Day
16th March 2007
Since 2001, Comic Relief has been a major funder of Survivors Fund projects donating over £1 million to support the building of homes for survivors. There will be a number of events hosted by supporters of Survivors Fund across the UK, including a children's music workshop in Radlett organised by High Notes.
Heroes of Our Time to be shown at the House of Commons
12th – 16th March 2007
Survivors Fund exhibition, Heroes of Our Time, is to be exhibited in the Upper Waiting Hall at the House of Commons. Andrew Mitchell MP, Shadow Minister for International Development is to host a reception in honour of Survivors Fund in the Jubilee Room to officially open the exhibition.
Launch of Kingdom Falls

The launch of a new album - Kingdom Falls - by SURF supporter, and the UK's premier soul artist Nate James. The title track of the album was inspired by Nate's visit to Rwanda in October 2006, and he will be using the album to raise awareness of the issues affecting survivors today. The Naming of the Humura Centre
22nd – 23rd February 2007
Cherie Booth QC is to officially name the new resource and testimony centre - Humura - funded by Survivors Fund. She will speak on the issue of gender based violence at an international conference hosted by the Forum of Rwanda Women Parliamentarians (FRWP).
Presentation at the University of Oxford

An evening seminar at the hosted by the Centre for Criminology, University of Oxford, to accompany the weeklong exhibition of Heroes of Our Time (12th – 16th Feb). A series of talks on the plight of survivors of the genocide today and victim's rights in the Rwandan criminal justice system.
Holocaust Memorial Day

A series of events to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. Survivors Fund director, Mary Kayitesi-Blewitt will be speaking at the national event in Newcastle. A number of other survivors will be speaking at satellite events around the country.
